Haida Roots is a small non-profit organization committed to preserving Xáad kíl (the Haida language) for future generations.

Unfortunately, Xáad kíl, an ancient NW Coastal language, is critically endangered  (due to colonial racism).

Awáan áatl'an taláng íijang - Still here we are! 

Our mission is to learn and share our language through stories, songs, and traditional arts taught by our Haida Elders and local artists.

Along with keeping our cultural ways thriving, we support the creative evolution of new Indigenous music, art and books.
